Each year the Behind The arras reviewers look back at their own highlights of the past year and make their own awards; awards which, if they were to have their own acronym, would be known as Betas, or perhaps, much friendlier, they could be Bettys.

Because we have a number of reviewers, each seeing different productions or performances in different theatres there is no consensus or voting to give a definitive list.

We have not seen the same shows so the awards are personal, individual to each reviewer, with the only unanimity being in an award for the consistently high standard we see – so the first Betty goes to live theatre in recognition of the way it enriches the lives of those who go to see it.
